Before you set off on a journey with your car, it is better to check it. It is recommended to do this at an authorized service center, for a complete and thorough inspection of the vehicle to prevent the need for a re-trac. Pay attention to the tire pressure, the presence of license plates, and also make sure that there are no new scratches or other defects on it. If necessary, wipe the exterior mirrors and windows of the car.

Damage during movement

The warning triangle in case of breakdown is mandatory!

The first thing you should do in such a situation is to turn on your hazard lights and pull off the road. If this is not possible, put up an emergency stop sign, following the traffic rules. Don't endanger yourself and other road users!

If it is impossible to repair it on site, you will have to contact a car service. There are two ways to get there: with the help of another car and a cable, or with the help of a roadside assistance service. Undoubtedly, the first option is more economical, but it is safer to use a special vehicle – repatriation to take your car to the car repair shop.

If towing is unavoidable and you use the first option – using another vehicle and a cable, be extremely careful. While driving, do not let the tow rope sag, and if this happens, then your task is to tighten it smoothly. Beware of pulling sharply so as not to hit the bumper of the car in front.

If your car is equipped with power steering (Power steering – consists of a steering system that has more traction on steep turns) and brakes, then you will have to exert considerable effort when maneuvering and braking. Use the brakes when necessary, rather than holding them in the working position all the time. Your brake system may be damaged, and the other car's clutch may be damaged.

It is also worth paying attention to the recall of cars with automatic transmission. If the requirements in the operating manual are not known, then you should use the “50×50” formula – traveling a distance of no more than 50 km at a speed of up to 50 km/h.

This is important: if your car has an automatic transmission, check the recall conditions in the owner's manual. Write down the phone numbers of roadside assistance for repatriation and your car service.

Flat tire on the road

A flat tire can cause a lot of problems – the car becomes uncontrollable. A slowly deflating tire can be recognized by external noise and vibrations. In addition, you will feel how your car constantly meanders on the road tightly. In any case, stop and determine the cause. Do not drive with flat tires, because… This leads to both deterioration of the car’s handling and premature wear or damage to the tires.

Even if you don't feel the flat tire while driving, other cars on the same road will definitely let you know with a gesture, signal, or a blink of their headlights. But be careful, this is not something to ignore!

Do not change tires on the roadway, obstructing moving vehicles and putting your life at risk. The safest place to remove a tire is at the curb.

Install the jack correctly before changing the tire. Make sure that its working part rests on a strictly defined area. After dismantling, tighten the mounting bolts firmly and try to repair the flat tire immediately at the nearest tire repair shop.
