Nissan LEAF (ZE0) - Another troubled electric car this week...
This is not our second case overall, but it is the second this week. The late vehicle is owned by BGmenu and was driven by an employee of theirs. Apparently those driving electric cars don't realise that it's not like a regular car, let someone pass you at a stop to put 5 litres in a tube and get on the road again. With cars like this it is very important that the consumption figures are correctly matched to the possible range! When travelling you have to take everything into account, even the top speed. At high speed these cars are not economical from an electrical point of view, with any electric motor it is! If you want to achieve maximum mileage, forget about " Fast and Furious " unless you own some model of Tesla, but even with their maximum range of almost 500 kilometers and above on the new models, in fast driving it will not be more than about 300 kilometers. And specifically with the Nissan Leaf ( ZEo) the maximum range that can be achieved at normal speed and smooth driving is about 140 kilometers on a full charge. At high speed, the range drops to there, no 80 kilometers. The maximum speed that this model develops is 150 km/h, according to their official website .
Vehicle parameters:
Electric motor: 80 kW (110 hp) , 280 N.m torque
Battery: 24 kWh, which gives 10 hp extra.
0-60 in 10 seconds
At hyper economy, speeds up to 60 km/h, air conditioning or heating off, outside temperature around 20 degrees Celsius, manufacturers give a range of up to 200 kilometres. Which we think is an impossible feat, especially after a year's experience.
Some of the models are also equipped with a 30 kWh battery.
Standard mid-luxury interior, ECO mode to save energy.
These cars are generally considered to be one of the most economical and reliable electric cars in the ranking.
A newer version of the model was put into production this year. You can find out more about it -> HERE<-.
We hope you learn from these articles. Electric cars are great, but you have to be careful with them. You definitely don't want to get stranded with a toque..... especially in winter somewhere on a long road in the middle of nowhere. We advise you to set your route carefully and take into account available charge, speed, weather and even outside temperature. You are aware not only from cars, but also from phones and any battery using devices that in cold temperatures, battery capacity drops dramatically.
