A new bill has been put up for public debate, which says: car owners should be able to install their own license plates. The idea of the change is to do away with going through the channels of the traffic police and to have this done by private companies that will monitor:
Rebroken frame numbers, engine;
Vehicle construction;
Mileage Manipulation.
It is foreseen:
Upon passing inspection, car owners get a time that will serve at the traffic police without queuing. There they will receive the tickets and the registration numbers of the car.
Previously, a seal was put on the registration plates, but now the idea is being discussed - to be able to install them yourself.
The Road Traffic Act is divided into three:
Drivers Act;
Future traffic law;
Vehicle Act.

What was the original idea for the new draft law?

The new draft law stipulates: to ban the import of right-hand drive cars from abroad. These cars have proven to be dangerous.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of right-hand drive cars:
Advantages
It is convenient to get out of the car;
Convenient for parking;
Crossing into oncoming traffic is easier.
Disadvantages
The disadvantages of right-hand drive cars are mainly related to the inconvenience of driving on the inner highway, especially when overtaking trucks or convoys.
"Mirrored" layout of control parts - gear lever and handbrake, steering column switches, etc.;
"Mirror" light direction - right to left, from curb to oncoming lane;

The draft law also addresses the trade in second-hand car parts. They must be purchased from dealers who are on the register. If unregulated trade in car parts is caught - the fine is from 5000 BGN.
