Termination of registration of vehicles
Termination of vehicle registration at the owner's request.
Cancellation of vehicle registration is done, and you should be prepared in advance with everything so you don't have to wait in ANY lines. Of course in this case, you are not obliged to come with the vehicle to the traffic police.
This is also the so-called BROKING of PPS. Termination of vehicle registration can also mean temporary suspension from traffic, while scrapping usually means that the vehicle is damaged and therefore stopped from traffic.
Depending on the type of termination, different documents are required and different types of applications are written, such as in the following cases:
1. Total loss - Written notification from the insurer to the Traffic Police of a decision to pay a total loss. For this purpose you must carry the notification letter with you and a small slip attached to it, you also give the large slip to them to punch and give back to you. Identity document
2. Dismantling - A document stating that the vehicle has been accepted at the depot/service for dismantling, to which you attach the small ticket, ID. You also bring the large slip for them to punch and return back to you.
3. Storage - an appropriate application shall be made on a form submitted to the Traffic Police. Attach the COPIES of the large and small ticket to the application. Bring your original two tickets to punch them, ID as well.
4. Destroyed vehicle as a result of fire or natural disaster - write an application form submitted to the Traffic Police, ID, bring both tickets, the small one attach to the application, the large one will be perforated and returned.
5. Confiscation by the state - document of confiscation, ID, application form and if there are available tickets bring them with you.
6. Registration in another country - a copy of the document of registration in another country accompanied by a certified translation to certify the registration in another country, identity document.
7. Termination of registration due to non-compliance with the Bulgarian standards (old, damaged, fake) - application form from the Traffic Police, identity document.
Submit both license plates with plastic holders removed!
Pay your tax as well as the vehicle scrappage document fee.
In the case of a deceased owner, bring proof of heirs, and in the case of more than one heir it is necessary for all to appear or provide power of attorney. It is a good idea to have photocopies of the vehicle documents. It is advisable, in the absence of the car documents, to go to the registration office in advance and declare
When deregistering a company vehicle, submit the UIC or if you do not have one, a BULSTAT document, power of attorney to represent the owner of the vehicle.
If you have made the mistake of selling your vehicle WITHOUT a deed, you will have to declare it wanted, by filing a complaint with a nearby RU, stating in the complaint that it has not appeared for transfer by contract, filling in its details and adding that you wish to be traced or find the owner yourself and arrange the paperwork.
If the car has already been dismantled, go to the traffic police and fill in a declaration that the car has been dismantled for a long time and you do not have any documents to prove it, as well as the registration plates.
After termination of registration, the owner may request reinstatement of registration. This applies only to vehicles whose registration has been terminated on the basis of Article 18(1) of the Road Traffic Act.
When the car registration is restored, you need to pay for and provide the liability insurance policy.
