How to successfully sell your car

How to successfully sell your car? The best way to sell your car is to do it yourself. Car dealerships often take huge commissions and this cuts quite a bit out of your profit, plus they don't always manage to sell your car quickly. But with a little effort and some layout, you can sell your reliable car for a much better price.

We'll give you our top ten tips on the best way to sell your car.

10 - Where to sell it ?!

In the past, all you had to do to sell a car was place an ad in the local paper or put a note on the vehicle. But these days the possibilities are almost endless. There are dozens of sites where you can sell your car, from sites like olx.bg, seller.top, bazaar.bg, mobile.bg cars.bg and others, to car sales companies. Take the time to research which site will be right for you and your needs.

9 - You need to be clear about what you are selling

Everyone who wants to buy your car wants to ask questions, right? So, be sure to do your homework before you start selling and familiarize yourself with exactly what you're offering your so-called "customers." They'll want to know everything about the car before committing to a purchase, which is why it's so important to have the answers, which if you haven't given beforehand can derail the sale or delay it. Remember, trust is key and there is nothing better than having all the answers and being honest.

          The Lie

Lying could get you in trouble, especially with more boisterous clients. In bulgaria it is a killingly common practice to lie and disguise the car.. MINUS, for this 80% we drive crumbs that were previously on another who imported it or bought an import from auto house! Then he sells it expensive, and it's not really good for anything...

8 - Ensure you have given a fair and realistic price

Once you understand exactly what you're offering, now you need to set a reasonable price. Look around in the local press or online at similar models. If your price is too high, people will give up immediately; if it's too low, you'll lose money. Start with a little higher than your asking price first, but not too much as this will allow negotiation. This will get you to the amount you want. In Bulgaria, quite often the price is quite unrealistic in most cases, but still the owner after a long stay and rust on the car sells it at its real value... A lot of people do not think that the long stay, besides bringing down the price, also ruins the car, i.e. YOU SAVE MONEY! That never dawned on most folks. Quite a few of them ask unrealistic prices, then ruin the car and are forced to give it away for no money or scrap.

7 - Clean the car like for showroom exhibition

Okay, maybe not quite for showroom, but as good as it could possibly look. Washed, polished ( if possible ), cleaned inside, shiny dash, engine cleaned, clean upholstery, tidy and perfumed. It may seem pointless to most, but it will improve the car as a look, it will also raise the price... and quite a bit. Not just the looks, but the impression of a well maintained car. Everyone likes to see a cleaned and cared for car, not a dusty, greasy, dirty and high priced one.... For the cost of some cheap cleaning materials you could add hundreds to the price of your car. Remember that first impressions are very important. If someone sees a car in top condition, they will always pay more for it.

6 - Image is everything

As the people said, "An eye to see", then on the spot "a hand to touch". One of the easiest ways to sell your car fast is to take a few good pictures. People are always drawn to photographs of their dream car and they can really help create interest in what you are selling. After all, it's pretty hard to imagine what you're buying if all you read are words. Take the time to show your potential customers exactly what they are getting for their money. Trust us, it will be worth your time.

5 - Make it perfect

Of course, the ad can't just be pictures - you'll also need to write a really excellent description of your vehicle. Try to be as comprehensive as possible. Think about what YOU yourself would want to know when looking to buy a car. Include things like the make and model, year, actual mileage ( we all know that mileage like 300,000 in BG is a lie and no one, anymore, ties themselves to that, better be honest ), how much taxes are left, is it documented, vignette, extras and add-ons, tuning, any problems or recent repairs, etc. If you write as detailed as possible, you won't have to answer these questions later.

4 - Documentation

Now that your listing is up and running, you'll start getting lots of inquiries and hopefully a sale too! This means that it is vital to organise all the paperwork you have in relation to the car, small and large ticket, contract ( it is lower cost if you have a contract ready and go to a notaire ), proof of tax paid and civil liability ( without the last two documents, making a sale is impossible unless you sell it without transfer..... which we do NOT recommend ), any existing service book. When someone comes to pick up your vehicle, you should always keep them on the line with you - they will definitely want to see that everything is in order before committing to a purchase.

3 - Payments

In Bulgaria, buyers usually always bring cash and pay in bulk, but sometimes for security reasons some do not. Not everyone wants to carry a large sum of money for fear of trouble. It's a good idea in such a case to agree on the payment and be sure to mention it in your contract and don't transfer the car immediately. Check with a notary. It's a good idea for both parties to keep records of any money given, so that no one is cheated!

2 - Defend yourself

When you sell a car, you have to deal with people you don't know. Now we don't want to sound paranoid, but it's always a good idea to take the necessary steps to protect yourself in the best way possible. That's why we recommend meeting in public for the test drive or sale. It's a good idea to be with the buyer, however, if they want to test drive the vehicle themselves, insist that they give you ID or something of value before getting in the vehicle and driving away.

     RECOMMENDED

already prepare a document, similar to a handover report , in which you describe the car and demand that it be returned in the same condition, in order to claim your rights in case of damage caused by the buyer. If you do not do this the likelihood of your claim being unproven in court is huge!

1 - Sold?! Remove ad and ads

As soon as you make the sale, take down your listing and ads from anywhere online. That way you won't get any more inquiries and give anyone the impression it's still for sale. Some of these sites also charge you for keeping your ad online. So be sure to cancel all subscriptions the same day you close the deal. Besides, they will also bother you on the spot if they know where the car being sold is located. And this will surely annoy you.
