The validity of driving licences is extended motor vehicles All MVMS whose validity period has already been extended last year according to previous Regulation (EU) 2020/698 of 25.05.2020 and Decision (EU) 2020/1240 of 21.08.2020 and has expired or will expire in the period 01. 09. 2020 to 30. 06. 2021 shall be extended by 6 months or until 01. 07. 2021 - whichever is later.
The Ministry of Interior informs you that all persons with a permanent address on the territory served by the Ministry of Interior have the opportunity to apply for Bulgarian identity documents with a paid fee for ordinary or express service in any of the BDS units from 01 RU to 09 RU on the territory of the capital and in any of the district offices on duty according to the schedule.
Applications for the issuance of documents, with the payment of the fee for express service, are submitted to the Bulgarian Identity Documents Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Sofia, 48 Knyaginya Maria Luisa Blvd.).
Finished identity documents are obtained at the BDS unit of the VRS where the application is submitted.
Working hours of all BDS units in the district offices on the territory of Sofia on weekdays:From 8.00 to 17.45 without lunch break and a single break in the interval 13.00 - 13.30 for disinfection in order to comply with the anti-epidemic measures.
Every Saturday - Department of BDS - NDIA, at the address. 48, accepting applications for the issuance of BLD - ID cards and passports with a fee for express and ordinary service;
Schedule of the BDS duty units at the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Saturdays in March 2021, with working hours from 8.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.:March 6 - Fourth and Fifth Police Department;March 13 - Sixth and Eighth Police Department;March 20 - Ninth and First Police Department;March 27 - Second and Seventh Police Department.
This Ordinance is effective as of the date 31.10.2020
For the time being, most European countries have agreed with the Bulgarian regulation and will allow citizens with expired driving licences up to 6 months back.
Until now, this only applied to the identity cards of Bulgarian citizens, which expire by 31.10.2021.
