What is an ISIC card

What the ISIC card looks like: a green plastic card the size of a credit card.

The card indicates the Latino's name, date of birth, and the period of validity of the ISIC card. It allows you to get more than 40,000 discounts in 127 countries around the world, including Russia.

ISIC has been in operation for more than 65 years. The idea for its creation belongs to the International ISIC Association. Originally, the card was issued to receive discounts on the purchase of airline tickets, travel and more.

Later, the ISIC becomes a discount card. Today, it provides all kinds of bonuses when buying books, clothes, electronics, paying for online courses, as well as special offers when ordering food in a cafe, when booking a hotel.

How and where can I get an ISIC card?

You can register at the ISIC issuance centre, where you can bring your documents in person. But you can order the card online. The list of addresses is on the website.

When issued in the office and all documents are available, the card processing time is up to 5 minutes. When ordering online, including shipping, it takes from 3-4 weeks.

In order to be issued an ISIC card, you must provide: passport or international passport (documents must be renewed for the current academic year), 3 cm x 4 cm photo.

Can I get ISIC for free?

It is not possible to issue an ISIC free of charge. Payment goes to the issuance of the card itself and the ISIC support team who negotiate discounts with companies, carriers, tour operators, prepare cards for issuance.

How long is the ISIC card valid?

Its validity period is 16 months.

Do I need to activate my ISIC card?

Once issued, the card must be activated. On the official website of the program, you need to fill out a form and upload scans or photos of the front and back of the card. The project team will review the entered data after two working days. Such verification rules out possible errors in ISIC registration.

Lost ISIC card: can it be recovered?

It is impossible to recover a lost ISIC card. If the card is lost, stolen or broken, you must contact the issuing centre and report it. The centre takes the card away so that no one else can use it.
